We were supposed to fly out of Pittsburgh on Saturday, the 6th, to start our Disney World vacation. Our flight was cancelled on Saturday, then Sunday; we finally got to fly out Monday, late afternoon. We stayed 2 extra days to make up for it, so it worked out fine.
At least we did not lose power, we were very thankful for that.

My neighbor's stormpipe, encased in an enormous, several hundred pound block of ice, began to thaw this Saturday with the appearance of the beautiful sun and the relatively mild temperatures. Heading out for a walk, my husband and I noted that the stormpipe looked pretty precarious; barely clinging to the building and threatening to fall on the many passersby who had taken advantage of the sun and milder weather and were out and about, strolling down the sidewalk.
When we got back from our walk, the stormpipe, power lines, and the huge block of ice were down and had crushed someone's car. We headed over to inspect the damage inflicted on some poor soul's car...and our stomachs dropped when we realized it was my husband's. We had failed to realize our cars were sitting the danger zone, mine right behind his! Fortunately, mine was spared...but now we're down to one car for the both of us. The ice crushed the front quarter panel and the hood of the car so badly that the car won't even start!
Here's hoping our neighbor's homeowner's insurance treats us kindly....
