What major shopping areas or "lifestyle centers" are currently under construction (staying in Allegheny County)? All I can think of is Bakery Square.

What's the freakin deal with calling them lifestyle centers? All it is a freakin shopping center that was prettied up a little bit. People in this country need more culture.

The term Lifestyle Center is so creepy.

I'm not sure why the term is "creepy," but this may help with clarify the difference between a shopping center and a lifestyle center. Basicalopping center is smaller and normally doesn't have a residential area.

But to get back on track, is there any new ones being built?

McCandless Crossing
Interesting. It's a shame they didn't include more sidewalks. It would be nice if it were more walkable from the area neighborhoods, not just the college.

This is going to add to an already very good shopping corridor off of McKnight Road. My brother and his family live very close to this development and are excited about it.

I'm very familiar with the area. I've always been surprised that area wasn't developed. I just wish it tied in with the surrounding neighborhoods. Everyone seems to want suburban houses within walking distance to stores and restaurants, but few neighborhoods have walkable areas. Western Pennsylvania just isn't into sidewalks in the suburbs. It's a shame.

Out here in Greensburg, there's been plans to bring an outdoor shopping complex in the likes of the Waterfront near the Westmoreland Mall, but I don't think it's going to happen.
