I'm 100% convined that Squeamish is just messing with us.

I thought that too, but I deal with the public on a daily basis, and there are people out there like this that can't help themselves.

Asking the same question of the same idiot driver 8 times doesn't have any defense. I mean, where you're from, what you're used to, none of that matters.

I mean yeah, maybe the driver is kind of a pain, whatever, a lot of them could be better (better driving too would be nice, not just better attitude) but grilling him forever while he's trying to drive just seems silly.

exactly. while he was giving you misinformation, and the claiming to call the cops thing was bizarre, there is a point where you need to just drop it and call customer service to get the information you need and complain if you like. that point is after asking once and maybe asking for clarification. you were distracting the driver and interfering with a bus full of people's lives. you and your bike were on the bus and going where you needed to go.

Why do buses have bike racks in the first place? Why not just bike to wherever you are going? They don't have trailer hitches for cars.

some people don't like to ride on the street and want to take the bus to the park to ride on trails.

and it's nice to be able to bike from wherever the bus stop is to your destination. for some people, an 8 mile or whatever bike ride is a bit much or would take too long.

also, if you're coming from out of town on a train or plane with a your luggage and your bike, you can take the bus to wherever you're staying with your bike and then use the bike as your primary form of transportation.

bike racks make it easier for bikers to take the bus, and bussers to take their bikes. what exactly is wrong with that?

and i'm guessing buses don't have trailer hitches for cars because that would be totally impractical, while bike racks are not.

If you get this worked up over such a minor occurrence in life, how do you get through your life on a day to day basis?

You sent your complaint to the Port Authority. What are you accomplishing by posting the Port Authority Dead Sea Scrolls here? If you're soliciting other opinions and experience, you've got it, but if someone doesn't agree with you, then you have to accept that, too.

I'm reminded of that Simpsons episode where Lisa takes the bus and is asking the driver questions and he says, "don't make me tap the sign" (which says "Do Not Talk to Driver".)

After the first few minutes of whining, I think I would have thrown this guy off the bus!
