Hello Comrade! Yes Pittsburgh has a small Russian population, however no predominately Russian (or even ethnic eastern European) areas that come to mind.

Seemed to be a lot of Russians living in Greenfield when I lived there for a few years.

This has nothing to do with the thread, but being half Lit, when I moved here I noted on my map that there was a big tract of land in Jeff Hills called the Lithuanian Country Club. I thought it was a golf club and got excited that as a Lit I might get reduced greens fees.

No such luck. It was just a huge picnic area.

Unlike being Italian or Irish, being Lit buys you nothing!

You're kidding, right? Need I say more than "Polish Hill?"

The fact of the matter is, compared to many other parts of the country, Pittsburgh has a very healthy population of Slavs, though most are the assimilated descendents of turn-of-the-century Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Slovak, Croatian, etc. etc. immigrants. Philly does seem to have more in the way of recent immigrants from the former Soviet Union (though again, a very large proportion of these are Jews) but things like pierogies, haluski, kolbassi, etc. etc. are far more acculturated into the general Pittsburgh fold, whereas Philadelphian Eastern European culture remains largely confined to certain sections. This, I find very telling.
