I haven't been, but there is a RUMOR going around that its 'ghetto'.....I don't know if that is because of the staff working there or the customers frequenting it, but that is the rumor.

Yep my parents who live right over in Munhall went to the Grand Opening and they echo the same sentiments....

I went to IHOP a couple weeks ago. The food and the service was great. Most of the employees there were Black. . . is that why people assume it's 'ghetto'?

Been to one IHOP in the 70's, what's the big deal? How tough is it to make a pancake?

True, but if you go out to a restaraunt and order a salad, you can say the same thing about that.

Not tough at all!
I make 'em almost every Saturday morning... sometimes I make Belgian waffles instead.
Come on over!

Pancakes may be easy to make, but the same can be said for a lot of food served at restaraunts. How tough is it to make a salad? How tough is it to make a sandwich or a hamburger?

I don't get IHOP either. The food is good, too pricey for breakfast, but good. But on a par with Denny's or Bob Evan's. The service has been spotty though. I just like service with a smile and to be a little attentive. I tip well but expect a friendly atmosphere.

Salad is bad example, lot harder to find an acceptable salad at an average restaurant than it is to find an acceptable pancake.

Been many years since I set foot in an IHOP. Just no real occasion or reason to. So I can't exactly say firsthand what the food is like at this point. But given the wide chain nature of the place, I wouldn't expect much and don't personally get why it's exciting. I wouldn't expect it to be any better than Denny's, Bob Evans or similar large chains. Heck, around here I choose Eat n Park before those. But I haven't eaten there in a couple years now either. I find better places than all of them.
