The Justice Department has decided that federal prosecutors should enforce criminal provisions in the Violence Against Women Act in cases involving gay and lesbian relationships, a newly disclosed memorandum shows.
In a seven-page legal analysis, David J. Barron, the acting assistant attorney general of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, concluded that federal prosecutors may use the law in cases of interstate stalking and domestic violence regardless of whether the victim or the defendant is a man or a woman.
Ugh the act is clearly gender and sexual orientation biased. Of course this act should apply to all genders and sexual orientations. That is more than obvious.
I think the DM laws are ignorant as hell. Even when neither party wants to press charges 1 person always has to go to jail. Usually its the guy. Hmm wonder how they will work this one out. Now we will get homosexuals on here talking about how racist it is because they have such higher arrest rates than heterosexuals as far as DM cases go. They usually arrest the guy but hey with homosexuals that's both of them.
The new legislation is about as worthless as a bucket of spit and the reason the changes were made is to get the Gay community firmly in the fold of the {D} party. Most cities when the police come out their has to be evidence such as a scratch or bruise. If both parties{hetero} have marks guess what they are both going to jail.
My step daughter who is gay had that experience, her and her mate had a fight and her mate had marks and lo and behold my step daughter and rightly so went to jail.Since when do you have to be hetero to get a restraining order? You can get a restraining order against anyone no matter what sexual preference as long as you have cause and can prove it to the court.
The orders go as far where the person would be in non compliance if they so much as made a phone call.Gays are protected by the law and have as much freedom as anyone else in the country and rightly so.This law change is just a dog and pony show to keep the duped gay community voting for the {D}s I am surprised they have not figured it out by now.
