What a crock! FYI, the school lunch program is a dept. of agriculture program. It was started as a way to prop up farm prices for a lot of rich farmers.

And it is NOT the Democrats that are playing racial politics. It is the Republicans that seem to be in a contest to see which of them can bash the Mexicans the hardest so they can please their tea party supporters.
I see nothing factually incorrect about what I said, in fact that article pretty much confirms everything I stated. The only surprising tidbit is that Hispanic voters only comprise 9% of the total electorate. As I already stated, 2008 was a bad year all around for Republicans.

In any case it is typically the Democrats playing racial politics, it starts with something innocent like saying the GOP is a bunch of old white people, then moves on to saying ridiculous things such as Republicans being against the Civil Rights Act of 1964, despite the fact that it passed with a bipartisan coalition. Both the Civil Rights Acts of 1958 and 1960 were signed and supported by a Republican president.

Actually you know what propped up proces for rich farmers? The fact that the socialist Dems and Republicans PAY the farmers to NOT grow food, to artificially decrease supply thereby raising prices. Get rid of the school lunch program, no excuse for parents to be lazy, my mom fixed my lunch everyday until I grew up and fixed my own.

Yeah, because every Hispanic relates to and gives a damn about the plight of the Mexicans.

It is silly to imagine that the Democrats will hold absolute power in the future because of demographics. Nor is it a good thing for any country or area for there to be no healthy debate and robust political opposition. There will probably be a general liberalization of society in the future by necessity, but economic policies will adapt as the circumstances deem necessary. I lean left economically, but note that Europe is currently having to pull a bit to the right because its liberal economic policies are not working. A balance has to be met.

Besides, you're assuming that new immigrants in the future will remain ghettoized and loyal to democratic platform when they move up the economic ladder and integrate into society. The fact is many hispanics are cultural conservatives. My step grandmother was devout Catholic from Colombia.... she was registered Democratic but voted Republican on the issue of abortion.

I think many liberals who have a love affair with third world immigration because they think it diminishes the clout of old whitey are going to be in for a shock. Plenty of "Vote NO on gay marriage" signs in and around the "Latino" and Haitian churches and neighborhoods in MY area of the country..... vote "YES" signs? Oh, that's right... the old white liberal neighborhoods....

So there are NO New white voters replacing them that have a conservative view?
BTW minorities can be conservative too!

Paying them not to grow food, and also buying up "surplus food". The "surplus food" program was the fore-runner of food stamps.

And my family and myself are from Puerto Rico and all of my relatives vote Republican because of the issue of gay rights and abortion, of which they are all opposed against. So keep hoping that more Hispanic voters come here and vote, at least they'll dilute the white liberal vote. Have you liberals realized the countries us Hispanics come from? Abortion is almost banned wholesale across the Hispanosphere, and there are little to no LGBT rights in Latin America. Even in Puerto Rico, where I'm from, there's still violence against gays, and a taboo against them, and it wasn't until 2005 that sodomy was decriminalized, and that was because of a ruling in the US Supreme Court, and it is a felony crime for anyone to provide an abortion in Puerto Rico for any reason except the health of the mother, and guess what? Most people, even young ones, are opposed to legalized abortion. That's your "precious" Hispanic vote for you, last laugh is on us!

Oh and for the record, I'll say it again so it sinks in your head, just because I'm Puerto Rican does NOT mean I give a darn about illegal Mexicans, or other Hispanics. I want those illegal Mexicans (and the illegal Dominicans poisoning and rotting my island to the core), to be booted out, and to be barred from entering the U.S. for life, and I want that border fence up!

National School Lunch Program

My allowable two sentences from this article. You are, of course, free to read it in its entirety.

Needy families and school lunch programs became constructive outlets for the commodities purchased by the USDA under the terms of such legislation. . . . Thus they would be using foods at school which would not otherwise be purchased in the market place and farmers would be helped by obtaining an outlet for their products at a reasonable price.

USDA= U. S. Department of Agriculture.

National School Lunch Act - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act (79 P.L. 396, 60 Stat. 230) is a United States federal law signed by President Harry S. Truman in 1946. The act created the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), a program to provide low cost or free school lunch meals to qualified students through subsidies to schools. The program was established as a way to prop up food prices by absorbing farm surpluses, while at the same time providing food to school age children.[1]

There's much more available on a google search.
