They said that 52-year-old Gary Brooks Faulkner, from California, was detained in the mountains of Chitral district - just north of Peshawar.
He had a pistol, dagger and a sword and was carrying Christian literature.
When asked if he felt that he had a chance of tracing Bin Laden, Faulkner replied, "God is with me, and I am confident I will be successful in killing him", Mr Khan told AP.
Well love him or hate him, at least he had the courage of his convictions, unlike so many keyboard commando's.
Now we can't say he was on a jihad, but a guy holding Christian literature, a 40" sword on a solo mission with God to decapitate Bin Laden, there has to be something to call this.
"courage of his convictions" unlike we keyboard commandos.
Apparently just as much so as the guy who lopped off Daniel Perle's head. I probably would have worded that differently had I known just how loony this guy really is.
