Think about it - all this time, all these years, they could have had all the rights enjoyed by married couples, if they would have pushed for civil unions.

Who are the real dummies?
How do you know factually that States (espec ultra-conservative ones) would have even allowed civil unions. in fact, some have had propositions outlawing even those. A civil union does not transfer across state lines if the couple moves. A civil union is only valid in the State where the couple lives. Unless the civil union law is applied Federally, it really wouldn't work. In addition, there are many benefits that apply ONLY ot marriages, not civil unions. Civil unions are only half a loaf compared to the full loaf that marriage is.

It's like proving you're not a racist with that old line, "I have a black friend".

Limbaugh hates gays.
Also, commies, closet commies (liberals), environmentalists, non-Americans, non-religious people, and anyone who stands in the way of Gung-Ho capitalism.

Clearly the tripe from the far left zealots doesn't have a basis in fact of any kind.

They just like to spew their smears, falsehoods and hate - just like Elton said, erecting walls, not building bridges.

The far-left zealots are some of the most intolerant, close-minded, hateful people around today.

They should be celebrating the union of Rush and Elton, instead, they try to find ways to denigrate and tear it down.

And please tell us why anyone who has just been demeaned, insulted and attacked they way have been in the first three sentences of this post should bow to your wishes?
Tolerant much?

Since Rush and Elton aren't "playing the part" of their so-called roles that small minds want them to play (Rush = hates gays, Elton = hates right-wingers) - it's funny to watch all the conniption fits of the pseudo-intellects!

Should they ask permission next time they'd like to talk to one another??
