He did it on day 61..sent a formal request to Congress asking to extend the operations in Libya. Now we see what Congress does.

Congress Returns to Town With Demand Obama Get OK on Libya - FoxNews.com
"However, on Saturday -- 61 days after the start of U.S. operations in Libya -- Obama sent a letter to congressional leadership saying that he supports a measure being drafted by a bipartisan group of senators approving of the military effort in Libya."

Here's another link for those that think Fox makes things up.
In this article he already got the war mongers in Congress to draft up something. See..McCain IS good for something to the Dems.

Obama seeks congressional support for Libya mission - CNN
"Obama sent another letter Friday to House Speaker John Boehner and three other congressional leaders in which he expressed support for the bipartisan resolution that he said is being drafted by senators John Kerry, John McCain, Carl Levin, Dianne Feinstein, Lindsey Graham and Joseph Lieberman."

^I thought the administration claimed they didn't need this since there are no active military "boots" on the ground?

Anyways, I am sure Congress will just give a rubber stamp. It would be funny to see them deny the request though.

He should be denied, but yes too often congress and the courts just rubber stamp these unconstitutional acts.
It's become all sides against the taxpayer.

We need to end this open-ended war in Libya.

How can 0bama justify this, not just the initial actions, but to demand continued support for further actions? We have no clear goal, but we do have never ending mission creep.

Are we still conducting a humanitarian mission, by simply trying to prevent a "brutal repression and a looming humanitarian crisis," or are we trying to destroy Qaddafi's military forces???

0bama isn't even in control of the military forces that he is trying to authorize funding for; he gave control of them to NATO.

What are we trying to achieve in the end? Are we trying to overthrow Qaddafi? If so,then who or what we are going to hand the country over to? Look at Egypt, we did not give any time for stability and elections, we just told their president to leave, and turned over control to the military, and the radical Muslim Brotherhood. Change, for the mere sake of change, is not good foreign policy, even from the king of "hope and change". BTW how is 0bama's hopey-changey crap working out for us here in America; so now we are exporting it?

We have no identified national security concerns!

Congress' decision might depend on the strength of Gaddafi's lobby in Washington DC.
