Interim leader: 2,000 dead in Kyrgyz clashes - South and Central Asia- msnbc.com

I still have yet to hear people on this board complain about the atrocities being committed in Kyrgzstan, or anywhere else in the world for that matter.

All people complain about are the Palestinians and whether Israel has a right to exist.

Open your minds and look at some other horrors happening around the world.

I have to agree with that. I have a dog in the fight in the Middle East. Nafster, I'm an ugly, self absorbed American, incapable of holding two separate issues in my single cell brain at one time. What is my dog in the fight in Kyrgyzstan?

I mixture of southern slang and Mountain talk. Typical in the drive by region of the fly over zone. Most Coasters and interior liberals feel utterly superior around it.

Yesterday the Turks bombed northern Iraq and killed 120 Kurds. But no one cares about the Kurds.

Why don't the Kurdish people have a state? The Kurdish people are ancient. Why the constant demands for a Palestinian state when the term "Palestinian people" was not even invented until the late 20th century?

Funny. On all of these threads lamenting that lack of interest in the conflict between Uzbeks and Kyrgyz those offering such threads never seem to discuss... Uzbeks and Kyrgyzs. Go figure.

If only they had guns to defend themselves... such a preventable tragedy if people knew their neighbors were armed, they aren't likely to attack their neighbors...

Ah, the patented NRA solution to all problems... both sides do have arms but as is usually the case, one side has more of them.
