"Meanwhile, the state party has adopted a resolution denying any party support for Rogers, citing the alleged racist and discriminatory views of the LaRouche movement - allegations that Rogers, who is African-American, firmly rejects."

Seems like democrats really only have one tool in their political toolbox, the race card.

She campaigned and won it fair and square. The only problem I see here is that Democrats now have two strikes against them. Essentially, what we're witnessing is that a major political party is only interested in the outcome of an election if the candidate is of their choosing. This is not only un-American, it's a flagrant display of the middle-finger to the "regular folks" who aspire for political office.

Shameful.

Yes the are! Even though i'm not a Democrat, i'm a little saddened by the Alvin Greene affair in SC and this event taking place in TX because, as I noted earlier, all of this flies in the face of the democratic process. I understand that political parties want the best possible person in position to defeat the opposing party, but to openly denounce a person who won an election fair and square is just plain un-American.

This makes two times for Democrats. They deserve to "fall about as fast as a box of rocks in water" for being against the will of the people.

It's just more of an indication that people are not educating themselves on who they are voting for. You'd think after the crap storm we have running the federal government now, that they would be paying more attention.

I don't mind taking the fire for this comment - But it should be noted that both candidates are African American, and both candidates are being ignored by Democrats. It begs the question: Are Democrats exercising a bit of racism, or are Democratic voters electing people with African-American names without educating themselves first? Something's fishy here.

Could this be more prominent than we think it is?

What surprises me is how do you think Obama got voted in? Same reasons and trends... there is little intelligence in the minds of most of the voters when they vote... they look at party affiliation and "celebrity" status by looking at names or if that name was mentioned many times in the news... I think a lot of people were shocked when Obama won when he had so very little political experience... they vote on instinct rather than any wisdom...
