I think most Americans would support it.

Republicans would support it because they believe in Manifest Destiny. They can increase the size of the USA and get all the natural resources of Mexico.

Democrats would support it because they gaurantee themselves 100 million new voters.

The drug cartels might have mixed feelings...Without a US-Mexico border the price of drugs would drop down to half of current street prices. And without easily defined transit points(like Tijuana or Juarez) to fight over, they'd basically be fighting over the entire US for territory.

What a ridiculous idea.

Such an invasion would be a clear violation of international law. What is more, from every possible perspective it would be contrary to the interests of the United States.
