yes, but I think it was intentionally done...I think he wanted out...and got out with a nice retirement....I think he was tired of the whole thing, just like Colin Powell was....the General would have been the same kind of political patsie, if he'd have stayed....

Really. No general wants to leave office in shame. He didn't know he would have a nice retirement until WH said, allow him to keep his star.

What are you talking about? Powell served a normal 4 year tour as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.

can't a general just retire? I can't imagine going through all this bad publicity just to leave your job.

following the idea that the general did it on purpose, he would of had to have known the volcano would erupt and strand the reporter with them for 30 days.....hmmmmm

Not to mention, his strategy might land him a court martial. He didn't do it on purpose. He and his staff got cocky, end of story.

He did know the volcano was going to erupt. He dropped a portion into it. He called RS, checked on the reporters itinerary. He and his staff positioned to bounce down. BRAH HA HA HA! My plan is falling into place.
