Holy Lord! In what world is it OK for an 11 year old to get pregnant? They were arguing over who she was hanging out with?! With an 18 month old to look after, she would be better hanging out with her dollies. Why wasn't this baby taken from her? Why weren't her parents (are there any?) held responsible for her getting pregnant at that age? Where was the supervision? And what's this that they are trying to determine whether she (the barely teen mom) was born in the US or Mexico?! Wouldn't her birth certificate satisfy that query? And now the 14 year old boy (where are HIS parents?) could be held in detention until he is 25?! Surely that's a misprint?

Police were trying to locate the baby's birth certificate to determine whether she was born in the United States or in Mexico, Leach said.

They are trying to determine where the baby was born, not the mother.
Unfortunately, this happens all too often in Mexico...young parents are the norm... and they bring this "practice" north and breed young in the US.
The parents of this child/mother should be jailed for allowing the pregnancy to continue and letting the 11 or 12 year old child keep her child. To me, this is child abuse and molestation and the boy SHOULD be punished also.

I think we need a law that there has to be a cop living with every family, watching everything everybody does, 24/7. We need to put a stop to this. I guess that's the only way. Or at least have cameras in every room of every house, and every car, too, and the back yard, with people monitoring them 24/7.

I believe the world record for a child to give birth is 5 years old in Cuba.

They already are being watched like 1984. Name one way to stop that does not involve invasive surveillance.

How did you miss the little box in the upper right corner of your link called Similar Stories:. This is a national epidemic.

How about responsible parents that don't allow an 11 year to get pregnant? How bout a school official who reports it to CPS when the pregnancy becomes obvious? You know - the "It takes a village ...".

Hell just be a responsible parent. My child would never be going out at 11 or 12 much less with boys unattended.

"18-month-old daughter"?!

Well... maybe she's almost 14.
