Counterterrorism Blog: More on Hezbollah in Latin America

US Military Commander Warns of Iran-Hezbollah Influence in Latin America | News | English

Loose border policies may be putting America in danger of the same kind of cross border attacks we have seen in Israel from Lebanon and Gaza.
The above articles state how Hezbollah has established a foothold in Latin America and how they are linked intimately with the government of Venezuela. It is entirely plausible that we could experience terrorist attacks in retaliation to an attack by Israel or US on Iranian nuclear facilities. Hezbollah has been being supplied with massive amounts of military aid from Iran and Syria over the years and it is naive to think some of that has not found its way to Latin America. Lax border policies and enforcement have left America's underbelly extremely vulnerable to attack. With the alliance between Hezbollah and Iran, we can expect that when (and not if) the hostilities begin with Iran over the Nuclear issue; Iran will use Hezbollah to strike at both Israel and the US. Americans will die due to non enforcement of border laws already on the books.

It would be a travesty if the US/Mexico border deteriorated to what we see with the Israelies and Palastinians along the Gaza strip. It is an interesting paralell though if given some thought. The burrowing under the fenced, crossing into the US illegally, demanding the US adapt to the illegals rather than the illegals respect existing laws.... .

Face it though, Hezbollah or any terrorist organization that wants to attack the US will not stop at the border to do their dirty work.

Always stay vigilant.

Nah. Those drug cartels won't put up with any jihadists bringing unwanted disturbances to their pipeline. Most of the terrorists caught so far have been coming down from Canada. I get that for most screams of securing the Northern Border does not have the same cache.

CBC News - World - Canada more lax than U.S. about whom it lets in, Napolitano says

Let's see how much restraint and concern for collateral damage we'll express then. Game on!

The Mexican government has admitted for many years that Hezbollah operates in Mexico.

There are more Arab-Mexicans than you think. Most likely there are some in the cartels.

Although it would be interesting if your theory is correct and thus one or more of the cartels decides to declare war on Hezbollah ; in such a situation I think the US would probably support said cartel.

That's Fine !!!
The COWARD TRAITOR OBAMA will grant them Amnesty also.
Afterall He is the Champion of Criminals that break America's Laws.

After He sues Arizona He'll probably have Holder pass a resolution validating their extremism and rights to attack America.

Such as Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, and others who could be prosecuted for war crimes, as Eric Holder stated there will be no prosecutions of Bush Administration officials.

Or Goldman Sachs, AIG, BP, and Halliburton executives - any of those companies have caused more damage to America than illegal immigrants have.

Nice Defense !!! Obama is continuing both wars and they are now His Wars. If He's going to use an executive order why doesn't He use it and end both wars?
Golman Sachs, Haliburton, Enron, BP and AIG should have been prosecuted. Is your justification of Obama is He's just as bad as those that went before? He's apparently no better. Actually He's worse in many ways, and It's only been 2 1/2 years. The aforementioned Companies have a LEGAL right to be here, Illegal Aliens don't.
Those big companies you mentioned also have Obama and His cronies in their pockets,That's why He also came their defense and backed their bailouts and won't touch them either, so that arguement doesn't hold water in Obama's defense either so it also is a failed defense of Him.

If you've read my other posts you know I am very critical of Obama on many issues.

So, do you think the Mafia also has a legal right to be here?

Those companies should be treated as organized crime operations and prosecuted under RICO.

I agree with this.

BTW, notice how just as public outrage over Goldman Sachs was peaking, the illegal immigrant issue came on the radar? Makes me wonder if the anti-illegal movement wasn't partially astroturfed by GS or whether GS and its employees contribute to certain AZ politicians. It was a nice way of getting the heat off GS.

The members of the Mafia if Citizens have a right to be here, as a Criminal enterprise they don't have a Legal right to exist and commit crime. I agree the aforementioned Companies when they willfully engaged in fraud and crime should be prosecuted.

The problems are Politicians.Lobbyists in both parties are in bed with these Companies. I also believe that since The Catholic Church wishes to openly engage in Politics that their Tax exempt status shouk be revoked and most of all they should also be tried under the RICO act for the sick depravity against children and the Catholic Church's subsequent cover ups. But that would be an entirely new thread.
