Default Mass. School Superintendent Apologizes for Condom Policy Amid Nationwide Firestorm

Glad they have clarified this.

FOXNews.com - Mass. School Superintendent Apologizes for Condom Policy Amid Nationwide Firestorm

Quote:
The superintendent of a Provincetown, Mass., school district is apologizing to parents for what she calls a misunderstanding over a condom availability policy.
In an e-mailed letter sent out on Tuesday, Superintendent Beth Singer said that the district will clarify that elementary school-age students won't be able to get a condom if they request one from the school nurse.

Would have been nice for the Fox story to report the following fact, which is missing from their story, but present in the local media coverage I have seen on TV:

The Board never intended to write a policy that would allow anyone but high school students access to condoms.

Of course, it's Fox policy to demonize schools, Massachusetts, and birth control.

USA Today also published it. You were very quick to dismiss the whole issue due to the source.

Mass. school district to distribute condoms to any age student -

Quote by the committee member..looks pretty obvious they really did mean ANY AGE:

"The thing is, sexual activity starts younger and younger," Peter Grosso, chairman of the health advisory committee, tells the Times. "We don't know what age that is. So we just said, 'We'll make it available to all of them.' We didn't want to pick an age, and I really don't believe we're going to get first-graders asking for a condom, as a practical matter."

From CNN:

Video - Breaking News Videos from CNN.com

Thanks for the post. Worth repeating.

Yet again - an important issue that needs addressing (safer sex, earlier sexualisation of children) gets lost in the fray of liberals and conservatives attacking each other. Imagine what could be accomplished if issues were actually addressed instead of sides being taken and the stress being placed on who can hit the hardest!

I'd call up your local media where you saw that erroneous story and set them straight. You got fed bogus information.

Can't help it if the Left is totally obsessed with Fox News.
