I am honestly starting to think we may need to consider dealing with this by invading Mexico and pushing the terrorist back off the border. Maybe set up a 5 mile "green zone" inside the place like Israel has done to get the terrorist off their borders.
We need to call Mexico and tell that government that if they cannot control the violence in their country, we will go in there and get rid of it ourselves.

We can't even control a 2000 mile line and stop them from invading us - we can't go into Mexico and try to control anything. That would be a big mistake. What we should do is try to get control over the border - the border was given to the drug cartels, they control it.

Unfortunately, their cries are falling on deaf ears.

The Mexican border is a mess. The cartels are not going to just go away, even if we sent a full division of combat troops. The cartels have enough firepower, and well paid, 'soldiers' to make one hell of a go of it. The only way to kill this snake is to cut off it's tail, meaning cut off the money. Tha cannot be done by military force alone. I'm not saying we should not hit them, we should, hard fast and often, but we should not do it by strictly head on tactics. That would be wrestling a pig n the mud.

maybe a mile or 2 wide minefield would help somewhat?

Where is the federal government?

Where are the troops to protect the border?

And amnesty will not solve this no matter how hard DC tries to sell it.
Anmesty will not stop the crime. The cartel is growing larger and larger. The wars between the factions are brutal and violent. The cartel has infiltrated the US in major cities and are even fighting for control in our cities.

At least once per week, if not more, our local paper has articles like "young Hispanic male found dead (under bridge, along highway, in cul de sac). The article ends with "...police are investigating". Then the incident disappears off the map with no followup on cause of death.
This is the same dang pattern that showed up in south Florida with the cocaine wars and it was infighting among the groups for turf control.

People are naive to think this is staying on the south side of our border.

This case is a perfect example:

Federal Police: US Consulate Worker Killed For Providing Rival Gang Visas - News Story - KFOX El Paso (http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/24122376/detail.html - broken link)

This couple lived in El Paso although the wife was from Mexico, the killer lived all over the USA, the hit was ordered up by people living in the USA. It was just more convenient to carry out the assassination on the Mexican side of the border.

Now where has our government been? This Consulate in Juarez was known for visa selling. They allowed it to go on.

The hitman was a known criminal with a long rap sheet, but he was allowed to cross back and forth over that border as he pleased.

And the cartel members are easily moving into the USA. All they have to do is pack up their stuff and move over. They can just as easily control their operations from this side of the border.

The government of the USA is not involved in any war on drugs - nothing was done to stop this kind of thing. No attempt to stop visa fraud, no attempt to control violent criminals who use the border however they want.
