I think consumers would prefer to keep their cash .

If you have a choice of buying groceries to fill the fridge in hard times or buying a nice sweater discounted 60-80 % , which would choose ?

Not even a stimulus would help consumers in the way consumers are feeling, negative about our economy, jobs, homes, health care, not sure of tomorrow, headed down a spiral, spinning round and round, but not gaining in the things that matter to us the most. People are buying the essentials, and watching their penny's.
