And obviously the Democrats don't care about following their own rule of Pay-Go do they? If they would find the cuts, the opposition (not only GOP) will fund the extension. Details...dern thos pesky details.

Seriously, look at all the $$ this administration has funneled back to big corporations as payback for political support. The stereotype of the Republicans pandering to big business pales to the reality of this Democrat controlled Congress and the Obama administration.

Have you even bothered to find out why republicans did not want to vote in favor of the unemployment extension? My guess is, no, you did not.

Rep. Dave Camp of Michigan, the top Republican on the Ways and Means Committee, is quoted by the AP as stating, “We could pass this bill with broad bipartisan support if Democrats would just agree to pay for the spending.”

The democrats have the presidency, a super majority in the congress, and only recently, are one vote away from a super majority in the senate, what more do the democrats want, accept maybe a competent leader somewhere in the democratic party leadership?

Where is this great Democratic Party communicator who can work across party lines, and move legislation thru congress in a non-partisan way? Is it 0bama, Pelosi, Reid or Hoyer, or maybe Frank, Waxman, Schumer or Franken?

And the Dems..what about them ? They passed Pay-Go yet they don't want to cut anything.
Since we're giving $1 billion per year to rich Afghans to buy RE in Dubai, maybe they could stop giving them that for a bit to help out Americans at home.
With all the money we have spent on the failed stimulus so far, we could have paid 4 million unemployed over $100,000 each.

Just look at this site, to see how much money these cities get from government, and how much they could have paid to the unemployed, instead of on these pet projects.

Well, that is better then if they failed like 0bama as a senator, since he quit his senate seats twice, he quit for selfish reasons, like power and personal gain.

bravo sierra!! right now the difference between the democrats and the republicans is the republicans want everyone to succeed on their own, where as the democrats want to make everyone equally poor. the republicans want capitalism to work like it should, and the democrats want the government to run everything.

Look at all the money 0bama is funneling to big green energy corporations. Green energy is very expensive, and prices will soar once 0bama signs his version of cap & trade, how are the poor supposed to cope when electricity rates "necessarily skyrocket"?

Maybe if people didn't have months of unemployment to fall back on they would be more motivated to create their own jobs...

And why isn't cost mentioned anywhere? As much as our country is in debt, it would be nothing short of stupid to spend more money on additional unemployment benefits.

Here is a hint - the job pool is not a stagnant population. Maybe those who are unemployed should spend more time educating themselves so they can create their own jobs and less time complaining about UI running out...

Go ahead libs - flame away. I have heard it before.

Here is a novel approach- one I am sure that has not occurred to Obama-

Why not cut personal and corporate taxes, cut wasteful government spending, loosen credit restrictions, and stimulate the economy? We would not need all the unemployment benefits when people are employed.

Obama is wed to socialism and cannot even fathom that those policies, which have always helped the economy in the past, would help again. He believes in "stimulus", which has never worked anywhere.

Perhaps Obama wants a large group of citizens, dependent on the government dole for survival, to keep a large constiuency of slaves who will keep the dems in power. Why not free these people and let them stand on thier own two feet?

It is true that while people are on unemployment, they will refuse jobs that pay less then they would hope for. I was unemployed in 1983, and it was about as bad as today's unemployment rate, and I could not find a job for 6 months, and there was no internet back then, just local newspapers and some trade magazines. I find it hard to believe that with all the internet sites out there, that people cannot find a job in 92 weeks, unless they are refusing to really look, and take a little less pay and harder work then they would like to.

Stop trying to put the blame for cutting off thousands of families from their economic life support on the Democrats. The Republicans are to blame for this outrage and we will REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!
