He just needs to look like he's doing something for the hispanic population. Even if it means the feds lose, he still wins.
I heard my man, Brit Hume, say this evening that Obama thinks his base is more important this fall than the Republican voters and that he is taking a chance that the Hispanic vote will keep his Congress intact. I have to agree with him that Obama knows he is in trouble unless the right manages to get all screwed around and he is taking a chance that the Hispanic vote will be more important than the rest of the voters. He knows that all the lefties will vote the way he wants and hopes the Hispanics can swing things for him.
I doubt that the Dems will carry many states that they had a chance in before today when the suit became real. Just think, Nasty Nancy will have to go from being really powerful to being the leader of the minority. I don't think she can take it.

So should Obama follow the lead of Reagan and grant amnesty, or was Reagan a "traitor idiot"?
How about having all Americans a national ID that can be quickly checked and verified? Is that an infringement on your "rights"? How is that different from making anyone who looks funny having to provide proof of citizenship? Why not make it required for all residents?

I understand your frustrations, we are all feeling them, but you have to remember,
Mccain was the poster boy leading the charge for his amnesty bill. If he was in office now, the illegals would be jumping for joy from their new found mccainesty.
BP is an independent company that screwed up BIG time from lax laws established by the bush admin and the right wing's slogan "drill baby drill!" The working people are their last concern.
Also to keep in mind big oil has been giving the texas republicans the biggest amount of donations for decades as well all the gulf states that (guess what?) are all republican. They are not going to slap the hand that feeds,..
