Because it's never been paid for. When these benefits have been extended in the past, every single time, it's never been paid for. It's an emergency measure that requires a sense of urgency.

Look Around! what do you see, do you see a recovery for your State. I have friends and realitives who live in Different States thruout this Country, they are all still complaining. All it takes is some smarts to know that the stimulus plan, did not work out for all.

Inspite of the fact that Larry Summers, Obama's Treasury sec. says unemployment benefits extend unemployment, the Republicans are willing to expand benefits. Sadly the Dems refuse to find a $33 billion savings to make it happen.

I hope the Dems campaign on the fact that the stimulus worked. The Republicans may gain 200 seats!

thank god we have people in charge who are smart enough to spend three quarters of a million dollars to create 1.5 jobs for people to dance around with wireless computer mice.

You know what, it is what it is. The Republicans have essentially been campaigning on "no." If they do get power in November, they're gonna find that actually governing is not as easy as "no."

I don't know I mean they governed pretty effectively before the Democrats came in power
