Life as we know it will be wiped out completely!

Quick, sell your stocks and real estate to me as fast as you can, for whatever you can get.

Well, don't you think people could see things like they've listed here as signs that there might be a methane explosion? I mean, sure, this all sounds pretty crazy.....another doomsday scenario and all......I would just feel a little better if the media could get out there and see what's happening. That camera on the broken well doesn't show much. Are there other cameras out there? Yeah, I know the writing is bad/sensational (Impending planetary catastrophy)

From the link in post #1

"The warning signs of an impending planetary catastrophe—of such great magnitude that the human mind has difficulty grasping it-would be the appearance of large fissures or rifts splitting open the ocean floor, a rise in the elevation of the seabed, and the massive venting of methane and other gases into the surrounding water"

From the "about the author" section of the article linked in the OP:

Quote:
Terrence Aym's* interests and studies encompass such diverse fields as economics, philosophy, astronomy, aerospace, physics, archeology, aerospace, physics, archeology, paleontology, the paranormal, classical literature, classical art, cooking, and traveling. paleontology, the paranormal, classical literature, classical art, cooking, and literature, classical art, cooking, and traveling. Some freelance articles published over the years:"The Real Wizards of Wall Street," Persona Investing News Magazine. Investing News Magazine."Online Investing Made Simple," Individual Investor Magazine. Investor Magazine."A Guide to Online Brokers," Online Investor Magazine. Investor Magazine."The Derivatives Market - Who Wins, Who Loses and Why," Silicon Investor."Don't Bank on Bank's Investment Advice," Los Angeles Sentinel daily newspaper.
So yeah, I'm not taking his article seriously given that he's a money guy and not a scientist. Besides, scientists have already refuted what he is claiming in this article.

What I get from reading this story:

1) Anyone considering renewing their apartment lease should just go month-to-month,

2) Annual magazine subscriptions coming due should be ignored,

and,

3) Refinancing my mortgage was probably a waste of my time...

First of all, I would take any article on Helium with a grain of salt. I was not able to click thru to some of the sources given and I know because I've researcjed it first hand that writers get paid about $25 if they are LUCKY and EXPERIENCED for an article.

I have seen YouTube videos with Russian Scientists predicting that due to the Corexant dispersant used to make the oil stick together in clumps and I guess sink or at least make it easier to clean up, the Corexant itself is so toxic and has been not only contaminating the water but the air as well that toxic rains were predicted that could ruin the entire eastern half of the United States.

We've seen the toxic rains already in the Gulf states and possibly in some states farther north. We know the air is polluted.

This is the first time I've heard it could destroy the entire planet!

Not going to happen. Natural gas escapes as well. We call it natural gas, but it is really mostly methane gas. It gets trapped in the lattice of ice crystals as it covers the sea.

I am not saying this is a good thing, but worse things have and will happen, and the earth and mankind will adjust.

If I were you, I would consider a possible ice age than a methane bubble.

LoL, every time there is a major disaster some one claims it's the first domino in a line to destroy everything. Doesn't even need to happen, with what if TV movies about "super" disasters, asteroids and over population. Pretty much for the last 2,000 years. You think at some point people would just tune all that crap out.

All it does is excite the people who never did well at hard sciences and math.

Which is okay, they seem to get abused with every fear fad anyways. Then they just poorer and poorer with their own stupidity.

After the Mt. St. Helen's volcano extinguished most life in North America, and the killer bees got many of the survivors, who then were thinned out even more by the avian flu--it just doesn't seem fair that we few survivors are going to be poisoned or blown up or swept away as a result of the ginormous planet-eating mega methane bubble.
