There's a few things here. The people who died in this accident were not your minimum wage low job workers. They were engineers and people of high technical ability and expertise. They were all well paid. It's a risky job, they knew that going in.
The problem is not the job, the problem is the corporation's lack of importance for safety.
These high-risk jobs have played an important role in shaping America's labor policies. Hopefully something good will come out of this.
