No, I would not support changing our National Anthem. Words have meaning. Suggest the OP learn the meaning behind our national anthem and the battle that inspired its writing.
Hmm. Ideas for a new national anthem... How about the old classic, "Smack My B*tch Up"? Or maybe "Oops...I Did It Again". Britney Spears probably represents America more accurately than old songs about war or purple mountains.

100% agreed. I can see NO reason to change our national anthem but suggest some people learn the history behind it.

I am certainly glad that I am near my end if this nation has become what you suggest. I voted no because I love the National Anthem when it is played by any good band but especially a good military band.
If we must change I suggest the Sousa march, Stars and Stripes Forever. It has no words that I know of so wouldn't have to be butchered by various pop singers at ball games, and such. Now not just any band can play the song properly unless it has an outstanding piccolo player so many recordings would be needed since few have the necessary instrumentation.
As an old soldier I still get tingles when the Star Spangled Banner is started by a good military band and seldom get through it without tears in my eyes
Here is an example of how the song should be played.

Well, will miracles never cease? I actually agree with a lot of this.
You should agree with me about this one since I repped you for your story about the Star Spangled Banner. You were so right and I hope a number of people read it.
I think that there were two things standing out about that video. First, it was sung as it was originally written like Whitney Houston sang it without all the warbling and sliding around, which I like to hear. Second, when I was in the Army we were told to stand at attention for that song and I would have been really pissed if I had seen what to me is a lack of reverence in the way they acted at that time. Shaking the flag around and yelling just is not what you do when that song is being sung as an official part of a program.
Thanks for putting it up, though.
