I keep seeing all the car decals, the business signs in windows, but -- really, is anyone actually doing anything?

What are you doing, besides waving your flag, or buying the decals?

Not judging; just curious. I am not doing a thing.

all this means is that:

Don't say bad things about the US military
Always stand up for the Pledge and say "GOD" when you should
Rail against Obama and the democrats and wish death upon them
Attend the TeaParties
Show your hate towards homosexuals and those from other countries
Love your jesus
Go to church at least 3 times a week
and "protect the children"

edit: the real answer is for the "feel good" vibe. That's about it.

I'm going to go ahead and disagree with this foolishness...

I agree with the OP that supporting our troops is more than a bumper sticker. There are plenty of places where you can donate care packages to the troops, you can certainly donate phone cards, etc...

However I think the best support you can give our troop is to advocate for them to come home NOW.

For one, don't protest them.

Besides stuff like supporting the USO, you can go out of your way to thank a soldier when you see him/her.

I've never seen anyone protest our men and women. However, i have seen people protect against why they are fighting.

I think people assume that if you are against the war then you must not support our troops.

Years ago I bought a round of drinks for some sailors docked during fleet week. Does that count?

But it's not as if I'm on a mission to do it again or anything.

support them by helping them with practical/stabilizing needs here at home. Support them by encouraging them to not go back to those hell holes....and possibly dying for corporate greed...war...is a racket

I support a whole class of students during the school year and my girls during the summer vacation and their friends. I supply boxes and postage to send the troops thank you letters and gift boxes.
