Hm, I am just very suspicious of people who connect too well with people, they tend to blind them as well. Like with smooth operators and women
Isn't this actually what conservatives say Obama did?
Biting my tongue here so I won't type what I'm thinking about the above and prior nagavite posts.
I will just say that in my case (and every other Palin supporter I know) I support Sarah "BECAUSE" she believes in the same Constitution I do which includes keeping government under control, making sure citizens can and do take responsibility for themselves and not become dependent upon the government, among other things the Constitution guarantees but current majority throws out the window (and many previous Presidents and their Congress's have done).

Yeah, like denying the right for a woman who was raped by her father to get an abortion?
Well, the conservatives have about 2 years to come up with a reasonable candidate. More than enough time, 2 years before the previous election Obama was a nobody. And hopefully the Republicans recognize promising newbies and are brave enough to drop Palin in time.
Palin has dramatically different views than I do on several issues, namely abortion.....
Then you don't understand the issue. Sarah repeatedly was honest about her own views on abortion, but was also very outspoken about the fact that, if elected, she would support the current law.
No member of our Executive Branch is going to change Roe vs. Wade. Only Congress could even propose rescinding this law or changing it. Then you better bet it would go to the Supreme Court.

So your reasoning is totally misguided.
Kinda like Obama hes against gay marriage but he isnt trying to make a federal ban on gay marriage.

No, there is no current "law" and she knows that.

Q: What are your views on abortion?
A: I am pro-life. With the exception of a doctor’s determination that the mother’s life would end if the pregnancy continued. I believe that no matter what mistakes we make as a society, we cannot condone ending another life.
She answered some stuff the "PC" way during the election like "its a states rights issue" which is the standard way of saying that you want to ban it, just go about it a different way.
I don't believe campaign promises, and she was very outspoken before her VP pick on her beliefs that all abortions should be illegal, unless the mother was going to die.
Palin actually brought out many more to McCain. Look at the amount of people McCain could get to events and how many came after Palin. Palin can get large amounts of people to attend her events.
I am forced to disagree with that analysis. Palin energized the Republican base, who turned out in droves - but she was/is absolute poison to a good part of the undecideds. Getting the base fired up is good, but not at the cost of the moderate voters.
She's a toxic asset: The number of certain voters she brings in is smaller than the number of voters she'll scare away.

His numbers were in the tank, prior to her nomination. He received a two week bump in the poll numbers due to her, but went down quickly after the Couric interview.
Sarah Palin's views are just to radical for mainstream office. She may get a Republican chairmanship, or even become a representative or Senator, but President, no. To many Americans disagree with her on key issues.
