He's killing the Gulf economy, intentionally. There is no other explanation for it.

Consider this;

Quote:
"From 1947 until 2009, there were 42,000 wells drilled in state and federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico and 99 days ago one of them blew up," Landrieu said.
Lift 'reckless' oil drilling ban, Gulf residents plead - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20100727/pl_afp/usoilenvironmentpollutioneconomy - broken link)

Quote:
President Barack Obama's "reckless" moratorium on deepwater drilling in the Gulf of Mexico is suffocating small businesses and destroying livelihoods, lawmakers and residents said Tuesday.

"The decision to stop energy exploration in the Gulf of Mexico appears to have been made in an uninformed manner that borders recklessness," Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu told the small business committee, which she chairs.
Crisis/tragedy= Opportunity for obama to realize his radical leftist views.

Landrieu has been talking like this for over a month and somehow the people in the White House are just too busy with Glenn Beck and Shirley Sherrod to hear her.

Landrieu is a corporate Democrat who is totally in the pockets of the oil companies along the Gulf Coast. It's no surprise that she holds that opinion.

Hmm, so a Senator that is constantly among the leaders in contributions from the oil and gas industry is standing up for Big Oil. Shocking I tell you......

Notice liberal responses attacking Landrieu and not disputing the facts.

Ok, well in the comments about the 42,000 wells, only an extreme small % of those wells are deep water wells. Those are the ones impacted by the moratorium, for a total of 33 wells.

That's because the title of the thread emphasizes her name and her opinion.

But the fact is that the moratorium only affects a very small percentage of oil wells. It's beyond silly to get upset about it.

It is her JOB to represent the PEOPLE of her area and they are being greatly effected by Obama's decisions.

Gosh, only if Nancy would have gone after those big bad oil companies like she promised she would in 2006 if the dems took control of congress.

Come on people,Obama is a job wrecking machine.

Now 9 million in the hole and soon to be 10 million lost jobs under Obama.

Obama is the gift that keeps on giving.

she's a loon and a spokeshole for Big oil. and she blows it out of proportion. only 1/4th of the wells are affected and its a GOOD thing that moratorium is in place.

We should stop drilling in places that we have no business drilling in, especially if we can't get to that area SHOULD something happen or prevent crews from FIXING it in a timely manner.
