Alright, I said Liberals could have said any one on the left. I am talking economics here, don't care about gays, enviros, feminist etc.......... So here's the deal, you are for big Government, you think the government should be providing health care, Social Security, Medicare, all the goodies, education, on and on and on, we all know the gig. So the question is and it is a serious question, I expect civil responses.........what is the end game where does it end? We know that you are very willing and eager to cut spending from the defense budget, you think the "wealthy" are keeping entirely too much of their own money and Corporations are obligated to pay the government much more than they do. So, when you have brought the wealthy down to the appropriate wealth, gutted the military to an acceptable level and levied the maximum against the corporations, then what? Is there a point where you say all is good? Where do you go next? Do you lower the definition of wealthy? In your minds what does the perfect scenario look like? Is there a point where you think Government would be to big? Where and how does it end?

When we insert another S into USA. That would be victory of a sort. A new flag with a rainbow background and a big basketball sun on the horizon. A new anthem, "I'd like to teach the world to sing", or maybe a slight linguistic change, " I'd like to demand what the world will sing."

A chicken in every pot and some pot for every chicken.

Third world "equality" via mandated redistribution of wealth. Then maybe, just maybe, the massive collective guilt can come to an end.

I think the reality is, most United States liberals want us to be like Sweden... not a communist collective, but not exactly a free-enterprise system either.

Liberals, by and large, are not self-confident, self-starting people. They do not feel sure enough in their own abilities to succeed and make something of themselves. They need a 100% guarantee in life that they will be able to live well regardless of what happens. The liberal philosophy is easy to agree with... I mean of course guaranteed safety nets sound great in life, but at what cost? At who's cost? This is always where the dividing line occurs between conservatives and liberals.

My belief though, (I am not a liberal) is that most liberals want us to mimic a European way of life.

This is an excellent question. I always wondered why liberals distrust people so much. Unless the person is a liberal working for the government.

I often ask libs this question and they can never answer. It is basically the same thing you are asking:

If the individuals making up a society can not or will not govern themselves, how can they be trusted to chose others to govern them? If they lack the virtues that civilized societies must have, what qualifies them to elect rulers?

I think you are actually pretty accurate there. I would say that most liberals who I'm friends with would agree that the European economic process(es) is their end state goal.
