Are you mad because they're calling you a freeloader?
I'm not a freeloader. I have high deductible/catastrophic health insurance coverage and pay out of pocket for my health insurance premiums and expenses, cash. I was never part of the problem that made health care insurance unaffordable. Those HMO's and participants helped do that with their low co-pays. People should be responsible for their own health insurance and not lay the responsibility on the backs of others. Freeloader my arse.
deluded, read the mission statement of the KC Star and explain to me how this slanted liberal story supports it. That's the kind of repeated cr*p from my "hometown" newspaper that irks me. Nothing but yellow journalism.
It is going to pass and send a resounding message that Missourians want choice in their health insurance and do not acknowledge the power of the federal government to fine/criminalize non-compliance of compulsory product purchase.
Final tally: measure passes 71.1% will all precincts reported.
Happy dance!

You're defending the right to skip along blithely uninsured, expecting other taxpayers and consumers to pay for your health care when trouble arises. That's freeloading, no matter what newspaper points it out.
First state to put the disastrous obamacare to the voters. Pretty good indication where this law the dems and obama shoved down the throats of the American people stands.
More referendums against obamacare are sure to follow.
There you go again, my dear. READ Missouri's Proposition C. READ IT and realize that there was NOTHING in it that mentioned national health care. Besides, too bad for you non-readers, this ILLEGAL proposition will be "trumped by federal law". Thing is, there are in fact two measure inserted into the Proposition. Under the Missouri Constitution, that would be illegal.
I am not going to post a link to the body of the Proposition. On account of, it's very clear none of you have read it, nor will you even bother to do so. I spy a trend here.....
Not sure if you're "my dear"ing me, but I was sufficiently abashed by your post that I looked for further information on it, and sure enough. Thanks!

No, I expect people to pay out of pocket for their health expenses if they choose not to be insured. There are plenty out there with no insurance who actually do pay their medical bills in total.
We all know Obamacare is the first step towards Socialized single payer system. The same system that is bankrupting and failing in England right now. The people of Missouri have spoken. Maybe other states will grow a pair and follow suit!

Thats exactly it. I had a hospital visit Sunday evening, I expect to get a bill in the mail, I expect to call them and negotiate the total down, and write a check.. People act like its shocking to find people who still pay their bills.. My how far this nation has declined in the last 30-40 years where people no longer expect to pay their own way...
Nope, sorry. that was for the OP who has a tendency to not research her "stories", nor does she read in their entirety her own links. It's a common theme.
Federal law supercedes state laws. It's unlikely this will go anywhere.
