Default Why is Obama bending over backwards to appease the right wing?

No matter what he does they will hate and despise him. There is no pleasing them. Obama is spending more money in Afghanistan than Bush did, he is deporting more illegal immigrants than Bush did, and they still hate him. It's time for him to appeal to his base and not care what the extreme right wing cares.

That's O's problem - he's too nice. Been saying that for a while now. I say pass Wall Street, and bank reform and listen to them squeal like pigs.

And FTR, deporting illegals isn't an issue the right is for. They know corporatism's best friend is cheap, under-the-table and tax free labor. Bush just talked tough about illegal immigration to rile up the xenophobes of his voting base, and ended up doing nothing. Corporations butter the right's bread and they'd never want to deny them cheap and tax free labor.

It just shows his flexibilty. He bends forward for Islamist radicals like the king of Saudi Arabia and, according to you anyway, he bends backwards to appease right wingers. What a guy!

Big business runs this country. They own both D and R; whoever gets in office is their puppet.

Spending money in Afgan??? Don't you mean "sending" money to Afgan.
Deporting illegals??? Don't you mean importing them? (sending troops to the boarder to ensure illegals rights aren't violated)

Barry doesn't bend over for right wing folks; he only bends over for other countries. If anything we (Americans) are the ones being bent over and slammed in the buttocks by Barry!

Keep praising your lord and savior.

It's really more sad than funny in my book. It's quite frankly hard to believe the lines of thinking by the moonbats these days.

Yes, "We aren't going to enforce the law, and we most certainly won't allow you to enforce it either."

Napolitano was governor of AZ and has said herself she made numerous appeals, wrote letters to Washington DC for help with border enforcement. Nothing was done, and the problem continued to grow. Now, she's in different shoes, and while she fully understands the problem, she goes by the WH partyline. That's a good public servant (er...Obama's servant) ... supporting Obama like that in spite of her direct knowledge of how bad the border situation is, and growing worse.

Tell me how is Obama bending over backwards to appease AZ, traditionally a red state?

When Mexican President Filipe Calderon trashed the state of Arizona and its citizens over Arizona’s immigration control law
"Obama did not defend Arizona, as one might expect a President of the United States to do, especially at the White House. Obama instead joined in with a foreign head of state in bashing US citizens on US soil"

In general, not just Obama but Ds seem to be far more gutless than Rs. When W came to office elected with a thin margin, he behaved as if he had a massive mandate. W went about his business as if there was a new sheriff in town - Ds be dammed. Ds were always on the defense when Rs were ruling. Problem is now Ds are in power and they still seem to be playing defense. Rs are more homogenous and unified whereas Ds are usually not. Dean want this to stop but some are too scared for the party to be pulled too far to the left. Republicans, OTOH, are never scared to have their party pull too far to the right. Forget the brass variety, Ds really do not seem to even have styrofoam balls.
