One thing about China- they think outside the box in a big way when it comes to solving problems like pollution and congestion. I really don't know how the new mega bus will deal with bridges, power lines and other such things but at least they are thinking. Meanwhile in the USA, we are.....????

How is this any different than building a subway that goes under cars?

Why worry? America is the greatest and the best at everything. All we have to do is sit back and enjoy our number one status.

It's cheaper, potentially dangerous and less efficient, of course! The Chinese way!

Still, the basis of the OP's title is true. China is innovating while we're stagnating...

China has some advantages regarding infrastructure solutions like this, they can leverage lots of cheap labor and don't give a crap about what might be in the way.

The caption on that first picture says "30% energy savings" I wonder do they mean versus traditional buses or a bunch of people in cars?

China is determined to lead, while we're partying like it is 1775.

I guess the Chinese do have enough people they can kill off experimenting with things like this. I wonder how many drivers will get scared to hell when they have this big "bus" cruise over their head that they werent expecting and wreck..

I can see it now.. Parent distracted on their phone, or yelling at their kid in the back seat and wham.. here comes the "bus" scaring the crap outta the driver...

Yes, innovation, progress.. Wonderful..

This is neato and all but it's naive to believe China is anywhere close to the US in technology innovation, it's one of the biggest criticisms of their industry and education system. They are best at copying to make cheaper.
