Recently, a Black Conservative and Tea Party member boasted, during a radio interview of how he "made it" in America without Affirmative Action programs or any "government hand outs". His response or opinion seemed typical of the vast majority of Black Conservatives/Republicans/Tea Party members.

My question is: Do Black Conservatives simply forget or ignore the fact that Affirmative Action programs which were adopted during the 60's, forced many corporations to "open the doors" to Blacks; and if not for such Affirmative Action programs, many of these "successful Black Republicans" would not be where they are today?

So what if they do remember it? Does that mean that it's still needed today? Is that what you're saying?

The fact that it very well played a part in helping them get their start in the 60's and may have been needed then doesn't mean it is now.

My guess would be that they mean that under the conditions as they are today, they made it without additional help. Are they supposed to go back and credit previous generations for everything they accomplish? We all benefit from previous generations in some way. They're saying that the conditions exist today to allow people to be successful.

This precisely is why Obama will go down in history as being the first Affirmative Action President of the United States. "Progressives", or "Liberals", or whatever anti-American leftists call themselves next week, feel (they clearly don't think) that every woman and minority in the nation is incapable of being successful without government intervention and assistance. As long as Affirmative Action exists, the bigotry and sexism of the left will always be very apparent to anyone capable of rational thought.

You are 100% correct! Why can't those conservative African-Americans see that their success is totally the result of their white liberal advocates??? BHO has no trouble acknowledging that without affirmative action he would be just another rabble-rouser!

I guess I am confused by how a person would know if they were hired because of AA or not. Is it mandatory that all AA hires are TOLD its because they are black or women ect. If not.....how can these black conservatives be sure?

Dude, you've recieved valid answers. Black people don't need white assistance anymore. Some have actually realized that, gulp, they can take personal responsiblity for how their life goes rather than relying on liberal social programs to steer their life.

And here come a bunch of conservatives to make the original poster look good in comparison with their ignorant arguments about race in America and how liberals are the true racists.
