Not to be pedantic but you the case will have to go the appellant division before approaching the Supremes.

My state already voted and said NO. I'm ok with that. Don't like it, don't live in Missouri. I promise not to live in California in return.

Outrageous.

This is liberal judicial activism at it's core.
This case was argued by Ted Olson, Bush's solicitor general (who also argued Bush v. Gore), and the opinion was issued by a Bush appointed judge. If it's judicial activism, it's by members of Bush's team.

As a Catholic, I believe in equal rights for gay through civil unions, but I believe the sanctity of marriage is between a man and a women.

Fantastic news.

Civil rights such as this should NEVER be voted on by the people.

Also: Democratic republic. That means, the government CAN override the "will of the people" if it's for the betterment of society. Such as the case for gay marriage.

Whats wrong with CIVIL UNIONS?! Why do they want so bad to call something marriage that is not marriage. Marriage will always be a man and a woman, no matter what they say. Trying to say a man w/ a man or woman w/ a woman is the same, is just crazy.

You want to give them rights as a couple, fine, but the sanctity of marriage should be upheld.

I think you will eat those words as the last gasp of bigotry. Even Argentina recently OK's gay marriage.

Does that mean people will have a more favorable opinion about Bush now? While Obama has said on the record that he's not in favor of gay marriage, "Bush's team" is obviously trying to help gay people. Add to that all of the work Bush did to combat AIDS. Maybe a thank you is in order instead of the usual hatred.
