Shirley Sherrod exploited black men, women and children, paying them an average of sixty-seven cents an hour to slave away in the fields?

"Imagine farm workers doing back breaking labor in the sweltering sun, sprayed with pesticides and paid less than minimum wage. Imagine the United Farm Workers called in to defend these laborers against such exploitation by management. Now imagine that the farm workers are black children and adults and that the managers are Shirley Sherrod, her husband Rev. Charles Sherrod, and a host of others. But itís no illusion; this is fact.

I know this story well, for I was one of those workers at NCI.
"

Ron Wilkins: The Other Side of Shirley Sherrod

The way this president and his administration runs around blissfully ignorant of the facts, making hasty, ignorant decisions, it would not surprise me if this were all true, and they would hire, fire, rehire, and then refire Sherrod.

More proof that Shirley Sherrod is one of the biggest racists in the Obama admin.

What does this have to do with race? Nothing.

it is about a business, and how they are operated.

And until the "evil" UNION came to farm country, they acted just like any other farming business. Pay as little as possible.
No shock. Nothing to be outraged about. It's not news. (Well maybe 40 years ago).

I think people need to look at things like this as a reminder. Do what you can to save money and educate yourself on having the best possible options available so you are not stuck in a h*llhole.

If that would have been the 1770s and not the 1970s, the Sherrods would have been perfectly fine running a plantation of slaves. but in the 1970s the Sherrods got as close to human slavery as the era allowed.

at least those blacks had a job, now u can go anywhere & find so many unemployed blacks. paying people to work is not slavery. having a minimum wage is probably the most antinegro thing in america. that & welfare have locked into poverty.

I didn't know that Sherrod was around in the business 40 years ago.
