And depending on the time of year, like now, you may appear to be a lot less white.

Late night discussion among friends... What do you think?

I recall my first trip to England in 1986. They used the term "colored" to describe black folks. At first I was shocked. Then I realized it was not being said out of hatred. Nonetheless, it was strange to hear that.

you dont understand that all blacks in the US are not culturally the same, would it be any different if people said black all that is is race and from what another white person told me american blacks(non hispanics, africans, west indian blacks) and white americans only share nationality nothing more.

whats the use for the term latino if there are white, black, asian, native american latinos plus mixes

Well the topic of this thread is what are African-Americans called in other countries. My answer was on topic.
I'm White, they are Black and both are Americans.

You want to get culturally correct, go for it my friend.
I'm happy being an "American" and leaving it at that.

You can be an Hispanic Black or an African Black or an Indian Black if that is what you choose to call yourself.
I just don't hear a lot of Italian White or Irish White or Greek White. Seems we just lump ourselves into "White" and leave it at that.

I'm curious why a Black person is called (or referred to as) "Black". Even the darkest skin color of a so-called Black or African American person is not black. Their skin color varies in the shade of brown from light brown to deep dark brown...not black.

And a white person is not actually the color white, and the same with supposed "yellow" "red" etc...

Yeah me too. I'm darker than 'flesh', and have lots of freckles.

Wouldn't life be a drag if we were all the same?
