If federal money is used to maintain it then is NOT a private road.
There was some proposals in the past, that the government would sell the roads off to investors, for cash up front, the revenue from these roads would go to the investors, and the government would be responsible for maintenance..
Dont know if thats the case in this situation, because I havent heard of one of them being done, just that there were proposals made. The PA turnpike is one such example.
This Tea Party seems to want to cut everything, as if the Government is Satan incarnate. Look, I hate taxes as much as the next person, but to keep this nation of 300 Million up and running, we need to pay taxes.

Such simplistic histrionics. No one likes to pay taxes, but we don't have a choice for many things. Yes, state and local taxes will probably increase...but they would REPLACE the heavy FEDERAL taxes we currently pay for things fromwhich we derive no benefit. If we pay more state and local taxes we KNOW who is spending the money and on WHAT. We can hold them more accountable than the pinheads in DC. THINK outside the box and stop drinking the socialist koolaid.
