There's a difference between calling someone who states "I've never met a **** who didn't have a kid out of wedlock and collected wellfare" (an actual quote from the IE forum) a racist and using this baseless claim about Target protestors comparing them to the biggest mass murderers and racists of any living person's lifetime. HUGE difference.

The frequency of reference to A. Hitler and the Nazi's is seemingly ever increasing in regards to certain sectors of American Politics.
Is this a seriously alarming trend for our times or does this simply denote a shocking ignorance of factual world history ?

Your post hints at a very limited view of Nazi Germany. The holocaust was only one aspect of that government. They also believed in a big powerful government that controlled people's lives..... kinda like Obama.

The term you'd be looking for is "totalitarianism". The Nazis were a totalitariast government but using the term Nazi would disrespectfully imply the Target protestors were the biggest racist and mass murderers of our time. Which is far from it and very disrespectful to the Jewish people of the world whose families had to suffer through Nazism. I know grandsons of Holocaust survivors who would spit in the OP's face for freely throwing that term around.

Well, the neo-cons pull the anti-semite card whenever someone criticizes Israel's policies. You have to admit that it's a well used and abused theme in the Republican Party.

So you think comparing this president, or these Target protestors, who haven't harmed any innocent people nor shared many if any paralels with Hitler, to the party that tortured and tried to kill your grandparents for the sole reason being their religion is fine?
