People liked the gas mileage they got. It saved on gas, now it's wrong to want to save on gas??????? That is the only reason they bought the car and it did run longer. Boomers did try save the environment but now it is turned around as something wrong. geesh

Exactly the reasons why I drove Toyota trucks. Good mileage, pretty much maintenance free and never got fewer than 200,000 miles on an engine.

My son use to sell cars. After Obama bailed out GM his customers wouldn't look at a GM product. I don't care how much you bail out a company, if they have a crappy product people will buy from other companies and bailing them out will just make people mad so if the product does improve, who will know it?
The funny part to all of this is that most people agree that the nation is in shambles. And which age group has been running the show to put us in the shambles?
