I for one am happy that B-Rock has already been to LA more than Bush in his two terms. The second largest market deserves some attention from the President, whether it's infrastructure or campaigning.
BTW, I've been on holiday for the past few weeks so I missed the big Obama traffic jam. It's nice to see that the same haters continue to sling poo at the same ol' fence. Good luck with that.
So what was wrong with shutting down Wilshire Boulevard at 2:30 p.m. on the Westside and not even telling anyone until after it was done? Plenty... people could have gone home early if they would have known about it. But to see the big Prez's (and it could have been anyone of the other 41 of them - or that Tony V) helicopter land somewhere over by UCLA, so he could ride in a motorcade to the Beverly Hilton... that's just plain bull... they could have blocked off the street in front of it and he could have landed on the roof.. and they could have taken the same helicopter ride to the fundraiser... blocked off that area and landed on the pavement.
So then what surprise do we get the next morning? BO going home with the same streets blocked off and dozens of people getting to work two hours late... so what could he have done? Leave in the middle of the night! Or at least let us know, so we could have stayed home until he was outta here. So were people who got caught up in these two surprises just a wee bit upset... if you think they weren't, then think again.

Yup, A L L those presidential visits THROUGHOUT HISTORY have been a bear for the local residents.
So?
I'm sure there's plenty of psychologists in LA to handle the huge influx of those so terribly, and childishly, traumatized by traffic.....
When Republican politicians and presidents visit American cities, do they somehow magically manage to maintain the full presidential security operation without causing any impact to local traffic?
Obama was in Miami during rush hour on Wednseday the 18th. and nobody complained even though his fundraiser was on Miami Beach itself. Maybe the LA police dept. should have planned this better than having some people here blaming Obama for it!
$30,000 a plate is much more important than hours long traffic jams for the plain folk.
That is what happens when people only think and care about themselves.
Yes, he is very arrogant. It would never cross his mind to think of "the little people", we are to far below him.
