Hmmm....... you must be thinking about different riots than the ones I was referencing. NO was due to a hurricane and the response (or maybe just an opportunity to let off steam and take stuff you thought you deserved). The Watts riot was brought on by police brutality of Rodney King. Neither had anything to do with an assassination.
