FOXNews.com - Opponents of R-Word Win Key Legislative Victory in New Jersey

Mentally challenged, that could describe someone with schizophrenia, or someone with very low IQ. PC nuts are afraid of specificity.

What exactly do you mean by "banning"? the article says this:

Quote:
A movement to eliminate references to the disabled as "mentally retarded" from laws and regulations gained steam this week after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie signed legislation replacing the terms with "intellectual disability" and "developmental disability."
Nobody is stopping ignoramuses from using the term "mentally retarded"...

I use the word retarded and I'm not an ignoramus. There is nothing wrong with knowing the meaning of a word and using it appropriately.

She's considered too far to the left by ultra-extremists within her own party.

Why is one an ignoramus for using a correct term?

Do you throw hissy fits in France when your plane or train is delayed given the word the use to announce that?
