PARIS – France expelled nearly 100 Gypsies, or Roma, to their native Romania on Thursday as part of a very public effort by conservative President Nicolas Sarkozy to dismantle Roma camps and sweep them out of the country, the Immigration Ministry said.

France chartered a flight to Bucharest, which left from the southeastern city of Lyon with 79 Roma aboard, Immigration Ministry officials said.

Good for France. The gypsies in France are bad for the locals and bad for tourism.

My son was in France over the summer and saw lots of them with elaborate pickpocketing schemes. They work in teams, often right in front of local law enforcement too.

They are so good. I was robbed by gypsies in France. Didn't even know it until I got back to the hotel.

It's smart for a country to protect it's own citizens. All normal countries have some kind of borders and some kind of immigration laws and enforcement of them.

I agree. The Obama admistration should get a clue from France and not attempt to prosecute states who choose to enforce the existing laws.

Hmmm, wonder how the French would feel if American Indians sent all the crackers back to France.

The American Indians are an example of what happens to people who fail to have and enforce immigration laws.

So the French don't wish to make the same mistake.
