Soros Wrote That September 11th Terrorist Attacks “Could Not Have Been More Spectacular.” “Hijacking fully fueled airliners and using them as suicide bombs was an audacious idea, and its execution could not have been more spectacular.” (George Soros, “The Bubble Of American Supremacy,” The Atlantic Monthly, 12/03)
In a November 2008 interview with Spiegel, Soros made some comments that accurately outlined precisely the course that President Obama's administration would eventually pursue in 2009:
"I think we need a large stimulus package which will provide funds for state and local government to maintain their budgets -- because they are not allowed by the constitution to run a deficit. For such a program to be successful, the federal government would need to provide hundreds of billions of dollars. In addition, another infrastructure program is necessary. In total, the cost would be in the 300 to 600 billion dollar range [in addition to the $700 billion bailout which the government already had given to the financial industry]…. I think this is a great opportunity to finally deal with global warming and energy dependence. The U.S. needs a cap and trade system with auctioning of licenses for emissions rights. I would use the revenues from these auctions to launch a new, environmentally friendly energy policy. That would be yet another federal program that could help us to overcome the current stagnation."
And it get's better on what they have in store
for the United States of America

Disasters can be spectacular. He meant "exceptionally dramatic." Literally "creating a spectacle." It's not necessarily a value judgment.

Hmm...
So what does he mean by 'Audacious Idea'
And if you don't mind what does he mean by this
The Wall Street Journal Reported That Soros “Views America As The Gravest Threat To World Freedom.” “More recently, since September 11, Mr. Soros has made it his goal to burst what he has called ‘the bubble of American supremacy.’ He has said that having helped to liberate Communist countries, he now views America as the gravest threat to world freedom.” (Editorial, “Who Is George Soros?” The Wall Street Journal, 11/10/03)
This is the man who wants American History, the Constitution, Bill of Rights and Economics out of are schools. He wants to control and these stand in his way!!
Too funny. Nearly every day, someone starts a thread about how George Soros is an evil guy.
Often the truth bears repeating. Soros is most certainly one of most dangerous men alive on this planet. That is the bad news. The good news is that he is quite elderly, just turned 80, and unlikely to see his plans for an all powerful one world government, the so called "New World Order" come to pass. More bad news is that there are others with the same plans, and Soros will be replaced.

Audacious simply means "recklessly bold or daring." Were the 9/11 attacks recklessly bold and daring? Unquestionably. Were they unusually dramatic and calculated to create a spectacle? Of course they were. These are not controversial statements.
This is a typical Rush Limbaugh-esque tactic: attempt to generate controversy out of a banal and self-evident statement. I'm sure Soros has said things that are legitimately controversial, but that sentence is not one of them.
Well, since there was a thread on how the Koch brothers might be donating money to the TEA Party and the OP of that thread didn't want to hear about how his party is being funded by an anti-American, socialist foreigner, I thought we could discuss this one here.
Your link does not show any connection to the Democratic Party
