the first time I got my COLB from Hawaii was in 1990 when I needed it to apply for my first job (before that, it wasn't needed). The form given to me by Hawaii was similar to the one that is used today. The only difference was that it was manually type written by the clerk there, as she pulled up the information on a computer and copied the information off from the screen.
THE COLB only contained my name, where I was born, time i was born, my parents name and ethnicity and date filed.
It was accepted as proof of birth by the job I worked at for nearly 4 years and I used it to get my HI DL
In 1995, I had to get another copy of my COLB since I lost my 1990 one, so that I could get a passport. They went computerized by that time, but printed everything on a DOT MATRIX printer. Still contained the same information as my 1990 version.
In 2006 I requested another COLB copy when I moved from Hawaii to CA. Was able to renew my passport and apply for a CA DL with it.
In 2010, i requested another COLB copy when birthers were claiming that Hawaii had changed their form. It was confirmed that in 2008 the form's name was changed from Certification of Live Birth to Certificate of Live Birth. But all the information was the same.
Here's a Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth for someone born in 1963 - two years after Obama's birth. Notice how it lists a hospital and an attending physician:

That article from the Honolulu Advertiser proves absolutley nothing about Obama's birth. I have given birth twice. Both times I had a private room and knew nothing about the other patients on maternity floor. Even if I'd had a roommate, I wouldn't have known anyone else.
Yes... there is. Obama released his COLB. Unless you are actually of the opinion that she gave birth to him long distance, that is in fact absolute leagl verification of her location on that day.
No. I'm saying that under US law there is exactly nothing that Obama, his mother or his stepfather can have done to give up Obama's natural born citizenship when he was a child in Indonesia.
Lolo or his mother could have signed as many documents as they wanted, and signed them in blood.
They still could not have taken away his natural born citizenship.
I also fully agree with this. I am not a lawyer and some lawyer might be able to prove otherwise but I dont think so. HD is right IMHO
