Texas is one of only a handful of states which could survive as an independent nation economically. The only others are California, New York, and Florida (although an independent NY would be very difficult to achieve considering state boundaries in the region ; having to cross border checkpoints to go across the Hudson would be very inconvenient.)

Considering the insane political climate in AZ I wouldn't be surprised if AZ threatens to secede soon, or at least if Brewer exercises her right to nullify federal laws.

I don't think the Somalians would be too welcoming. After all the Conservatives tend to be Christians.

Yeah, as someone else posted, there's too many mosques. That puts the kabosh on the whole idea.

Nah, never work. Even the Russian communists don't like the communists any more.

NE/SE/NW/SW?
We tried this back in 1861 remember? The secessionist got their asses whipped.

Look, we are in the midst of a national debate. It's going to heated, ugly and possibly violent. This country will go one way or another. There is simply too wide of divergence in values, understanding and philosophies. I've already decided that if this country moves in a direction that doesn't suit my long term economic interest or fits my political values I'll just leave. There are too many great places in the world to live to be stuck somewhere that doesn't embrace political values that I can be aligned with. Besides from an economic standpoint it looks like several other countries have much brighter futures than America does.

And likewise, your caricature of conservatives leaves a lot to be desired.
