Despite your party or like/dislike regarding our President please let us be civil and cool headed about this on this thread...
The GOP HATE IT. Yet another thing they didn't have the guts to do, ie clean up a mess they created. Sucks for them, but I think it's fantastic.

Yeah right..it's over....

Despite formal combat end, US joins Baghdad battle - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100905/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iraq - broken link)

"Days after the U.S. officially ended combat operations and touted Iraq's ability to defend itself, American troops found themselves battling heavily armed militants assaulting an Iraqi military headquarters in the center of Baghdad on Sunday. The fighting killed 12 people and wounded dozens.

It was the first exchange of fire involving U.S. troops in Baghdad since the Aug. 31 deadline for formally ending the combat mission, and it showed that American troops remaining in the country are still being drawn into the fighting."

Tell the family of the soldier that got killed the day after Obama "ended the war" how fantastic it is. I doubt they would agree with you.

Spoken like a true ideologue.

Bullets are still flying, IEDs are still a major problem, and our soldiers are still being killed and wounded. The only people cleaning up the mess are the troops on the ground.

If you honestly believe it takes guts to proclaim hostilities over from a comfortable office in DC you have little grasp of the realities of conflict.

Liberals were quick to jump on Bush for his foolish "mission accomplished" statement. It seems they're equally quick to jump to the defense of one of their own when he employs the same tactics.

The blatant and unthinking hypocrisy of the left never ceases to amaze me.
