Notice those curtains are similar to the ones he stands in front of during other speeches?

Look at the pattern and color, what does that remind you of?

My grandmother's couch.

But I'm not quite sure because it was covered with plastic most of it's life.

Yep. Flocked wallpaper.

Which, unfortunately, has been becoming more popular over the last couple of years.

Yeah, try to get into "your" office and see how far you get.

One of the first thing any new president does it pick out the design for his new carpet because it takes a year to get it designed, bid out and made. Obama's rug was made in Michigan and took 570 man hours with a total of 30 craftsmen working on. And, no, the tax payers didn't pay for it or any of the renovations. I think it's pretty traditional for a president to use the office for a time before he decides what he wants in the way of furnishings. Obviously, the two couches suggests he wants his staff to be comfortable.

I just do not have a dog in this fight. All or most of the presidents redecorate and the fund are in place for that. We really do have bigger problems than the bad/good taste of the white house occupants.

What a great idea!
I would buy a book that had great office ideas.

I see a Learning Channel gig in your future.
