If the US government mandates green energy jobs and gets into the business of the green industry, I can bet you that'll create a massive bubble and blow up like the dot-com bubble

No one is stopping you from using your own money along with a 30% federal tax subsidy to invest in green energy for your own home or from going out and getting a job in green energy. So, if you have not, why not?

This is about manufacturing jobs here in tht USA. If anyone here wants to purchase solar panels, for instance, why should we be purchasing them from China? Shouldn't we be promoting jobs and businesses here?

Did any of our stimulus money go for green energy development ?
Will any of the next stimulus money go for green energy development ?

Do you know the hoops any green energy has to go through with the government ?

Do you know that the activists are against wind energy because it kills the birds and looks ugly ?

Did you know that China used over $400 billion of its stimulus last year to further green energy development ?

All Al Gore and our government cared about was taxing us and trading carbon credits on Wall Street with Goldman Sachs. That's where our "green energy" work is..making Wall Street richer and giving them a new bubble to play with.

I agree that it should have been better funded, but with a bit more research, I'm sure it will be easy to find who or what interfered.

Largest Wind Farm in the United States to be Built in Oregon

There's much to celebrate in the announcement. Most important is the fact that by using wind to produce electricity instead of burning coal, some 1.5 million fewer tons of greenhouse gases will be emitted. Also, according to GE Energy spokeswoman, Milissa Rocker, the new turbines will be made at the company's Pensacola, Florida, plant. (Previously, all 2.5xls were made in Germany.)

Obama's Stimulus Money Spent Overseas, Jobs in China - ABC News

An investigation by ABC News and the Investigative Reporting Workshop found that 79 percent of the program's money has gone to foreign companies, money that Schumer said was "federal tax dollars, the stimulus, which was sold as jobs in America."

The senators are especially alarmed about a project highlighted by ABC News in West Texas that uses turbines manufactured in China. The Texas wind farm is eligible for up to $450 million in stimulus funds.

The facts are China is putting up a new coal plant about every 2 weeks and India is not far behind. They will use this cheap energy to manufacture expensive green goods like solar panels to sell to us.

Apparently the GOP prefers giving business to foreigners over American citizens.

They seem to have forgotten that the stimulus is supposed to stimulate the American economy.

If instead of tax cuts for businesses that don't want to invest domestically in order to appease Repubs who were never going to vote yay anyway, we could have put that money into our much deserving manufacturing sector (http://www.americanmanufacturing.org/newscenter/pressreleases/2009/01/16/strong-domestic-sourcing-requirements-create-33-more-manufacturing-jobs/ - broken link).

The Party Of No is no friend to American labor.

Here's a few more details:

U.S. Senate: Legislation & Records Home > Votes > Roll Call Vote

FYI, this is nothing new in the green energy sector. Subsidies have been going towards foreign built machinery for years.

From my previous post. Of course I was being sarcastic...

What a surprise (NOT) that the GOP was undermining something that would help the middle class and give credit to Obama.
