First day of classes Freshman year of high school. We were sent home early and had the next day off. My brother worked at the World Trade Center but thankfully was fine.

i had a dream the previous night that i was watching "On Scene" the episode was about an auto accident; a premature birth; a boat trapped in a storm off Alaska and that what i was watching when the first bulletins came in of course it got worse as the minutes went on

I was putting a rebuilt front axle back into a 4WD Case 580E backhoe. I had it jacked up in place and was bolting on the saddles for the front axle pivot, and the kid who worked out in the rental yard stopped by and told me a plane had hit the world trade center. We smoked a cigarette and talked a bit before I realized that he meant a ****ing jet liner- not a little piston prop plane.

And from there I just watched America go to ****. Sept. 11 brought out the worst in us. Made me finally understand who we are and the monstrous stupidity we're capable of.
